Hello,
I'm Valentina
I am Valentina Florez Vasquez, a creative living in London from a Colombian background, born in southern Spain. Having grown up in a creative family, I have been inspired by a variety of mediums, and techniques, and questioning my surroundings.
I am interested in the way society behaves, non-verbal communication and perspective. Over time, I have felt the lack of calling a country or city my own 'home', despite growing up in London; and find it intriguing that I can feel roots in a country that I have never lived in. Ethnicity, culture, and heritage have been a continuous theme across my work, which gradually started forming its identity, alongside colour, textures and forms in my art and design. And capturing or documenting moments that are personal to me to I find important in some way, through photographic means.
I completed an Art & Design Foundation Diploma at UAL as a way to expand my creative horizons. Wanting to focus more on people, culture and behaviour, I am on my final year at SOAS, University of London studying BA Social Anthropology. I am also a Tate Collective Producer assisting at Tate Lates and creating workshops for young people.

In 2025, my artwork Brixton Village Women was exhibited at Brixton Tate Library's Brixton Blog & Bugle Summer Art Show and was voted the winner by visitors which I was very thankful for.
In February this year, my photo Free Cuts was selected to be displayed at Tate Britain Late's Lee Miller Open Call in collaboration with Girls in Film.
This April until the start of May, I am having, Hogar: an art solo show, at Clover's Brixton displaying Brixton Village Women alongside Trabajadores Ambulantes (Peddlers) a new series I am working on.
